This isn't Kansas, Dorothy. This is the Emerald City!
We were up and out of the drive shortly before 9 am this morning. We pointed the Dodge south and we found green grass, green leaves on the trees and a pretty, fragrant day. We found trees in bloom and tulips and daffodils blooming on the ground.
I tried to get photos to do the day justice but I just didn't get it captured.
We drove south in Missouri, down US 65, met up with US 63 and wandered up and down and around through beautiful rugged Missouri. The further south we got, the more stone houses and quaint structures we found.
We had a picnic lunch in a Church yard and cemetery. We crossed into Arkansas about 5 pm and the air was so fragrant, the wisteria, redbuds and dogwood blooming at their prime.
I just cannot capture in photos or describe in words the beauty we saw today. I told Himself once that there is no green, greener or brighter than what we had our eyes on at that moment in time!
And yet tomorrow, we will drive south through the State of Arkansas and move into Louisiana and hope to arrive at the Gulf of Mexico and we will come up against a different kind of Beautiful. We am looking forward to Day 3!
