"When all of life is over and our work on earth is done,
and the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there"
Himself and I made our annual pilgrimage the other evening, to the cemetery to take flags and flowers and I took the roll call . . .
Dale and LaRene Sychra Hofmeister
Mary Gibson and Shorty (Clarence) Hofmeister
Eva Walker Hofmeister
Polly Maxedon and John Riley Gibson
Mary Keesler and Norman G. Walker
Clara and Joseph Maxedon
and many, many other cousins and relatives. There are four generations on each side for Dale . . . four on his mother's side and four on his dad's. Lanny says we'll be the fifth but I'm still campaigning for Graceland at Afton. However, with this kind of pull and all the history and census, I'm thinking Himself will win this one.
(I need to draw a map of this cemetary for future generations.)

Yes, but let's not start thinking about this yet. . . you and dad have at least another 30-40 years in ya both!! And yes, you will have to draw us a map!
I've read this twice, but not sure why I haven't commented. Maybe I don't like the subject? lol
Agree with Erica, I will need a map especially to that one cemetary over by Lorimer that you took me to!
maxedon is an interesting name -
I've wondered about the origin of the name Maxedon in the past but never really researched it. . . tonight, I plugged it into the i'net but didn't find too much. Might make this a topic of research come winter: It might have come from Wales or Scotland and Maxedons (i.e. Maxedents) have been in the US since about 1780.
