I loved Sorghum days. Those are such good memories. When did he have them? In the fall? and for how many years?

Sorghum Days was in September every year and I suppose they only had them, what, 7 or 8 years? Which coincided with our years in the store and your children's "formative" years. I imagine they'll stay with always.

Sorghum Days were such a lot of work for the folks and then a lot of clean up after it was over. I know Gramps probably enjoyed every minute of the actual Sorghum Days weekend and probably would have continued them had he not fallen into the depression.

Joy remembers Sorghum Days and the bridge. Good times. Especially when we were able to camp. I loved making up to the trees rustling overhead and the cool morning air. Skinning dipping in the creek, building a dam in the creek to swim, ice-skating on the creek one winter . . . Granny's warning to "stay away from the creek" never worked!

I've never had such good hotdogs and bean soup as what you made at Sorghum Days . . . good stuff!

I agree about the hotdogs and food! I loved making candles with Aunt Mary and watching her make the soap. Stacey Ruth also remembers Sorghum days fondly. Who could forget that bridge???

Erica, I noticed you didn't agree about the bean soup!
