Octobers I have known

Remember last fall when we all got together at Erica and Dana's and had a great day and fine exercise and explored the lay of the land?  I'm hoping we have some great Indian Summer this year too.

This week, while reading and writing Blogs, I got to wondering if I still knew how to link back to old Posts.  Guess what?  I didn't!  I don't know if they've changed Blogger.com or if I just can't quite click the right settings.  I have managed to put in links to previous blogs from 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.  All were written in October.  This is mainly for practice . . . but still kind of enjoyable going back and reading the old posts.  Anyway, at my age, you use it or lose it so I'm going to try to incorporate links and other fun things -- got to keep this ol' brain working!

Meanwhile, if you have time click inside one of the links below and then click on the hml that comes up in the little box.  It should be prettier/slicker than these but I'll be working on this.  Have fun!
Gramps and Granny's wedding anniversary was October 23, 1938.  2005

I think this fall day in the driveway will forever be in my memory.  The children all worked together, there was nary a harsh word and they all took turns and had fun.

I put this one in just because it was written in October.  It doesn't have anything to do with October but truly a milestone.
Milestone

Again, this is only October related because it was written in October but I liked the Fall / Tree link.

Audri's head stand

Audri is pretty sure she can do whatever she tries to.  She has ways of accomplishing that thing.  Anything.  : )

For instance here, she wants to do a head stand so she found a way to do it.

Yep, Audri is on her head.  Makes it look easy too!

What creativity and imagination!

Bella Blue Eyes

Bella has a "can do" attitude.  She seems confident that she can do anything she tries : )

I'm glad she hasn't tried the golf cart yet, or the four-wheeler.  I think when I watch her sit and touch the key, that she is thinking "I could do this."  So far, she hasn't tried but remembering her dad, I do try to be careful about not leaving the key in the cart.

Bella has lots of fun and happy days ahead . . . : )

Tween

Morghan is really a "Tween".  She's a teen but she's still in between little girlhood and real teenage hood.  Well, this was of last summer . . . so today, she might be 100% genuine teenager.

I admire her attitude, energy, interest, and her bling and pizzazz!

Good Help

I have had occasion to work with Joey a few times this past summer.  This was one occasion.

We had a broken swing seat that needed replaced.  Joe helped me get the big ladder and was my toter and fetcher while I was up the ladder struggling to untie the rope.  We needed one loose end so we could string the rope thru the new swing seat.

Joe also helped me bore two holes in the new wooden seat with my old "brace and bit" -- the hand operated drill.  No motor or battery.

This past weekend Joey helped trim trees and cut up fire kindling.  He liked the loppers so well I told him I might have to get him a pair for Christmas.  Not!  (well, yes, I told him that but I would never do that.)

just Hanging around

Gabby loves the "silly swing" . . . the one rope swing.  I think she likes the other type of swing well enough too but it is just that she likes this one better.

I'm glad she likes it.  I was a swinger when I was a kid.  Of course, there was no TV during the day back there in the 1950s so swinging was just about as good as it got, for entertainment.

Ah, childhood pleasures.

Childhood memories.

I hope all my grandchildren have plenty of fun memories
when they are all "growed up".

Long tall drink of water

I don't think anyone uses that expression anymore to describe a tall, slender person . . .

I hardly have any pictures of Jack this year, I don't know what I will do for the calendar if I don't track him down and take some.  I'll be forced to borrow from Erica or scan his school photo.

I hope Jack had a great time today for his birthday.

I hope Jack's folks get to sleep tonight.  I hear Jack is going to have a couple of buddies stay over.  Good luck!

Happy Birthday, Jack Gibson Frey!
